Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance launches Action Pack
July 2004

Available to all, the 16-page Action Pack is a practical guide, designed to help everyone play their part in the Global Week of Action, whatever their knowledge of trade or experience in campaigning.

It explains the idea and aims of the Week and contains all you need to get your organisation involved. In addition to background information examining what’s wrong with trade at the moment and proposing alternatives, the pack provides practical suggestions on how to organise effective events, how to influence decision-makers and how to inspire others.

The EAA, a broad ecumenical network for coordinated international advocacy on HIV/AIDS and global trade, is also publishing a Worship Pack in September 2004. This will be a collection of worship materials for use in church services before and during the Week. It will contain some theological reflection, an order of service, stories of people affected by trade and ideas on how to use such a service to launch your campaigning.

The EAA formally endorsed the call to a Global Week of Action at its Trade for People campaign consultation in Geneva in March 2004. The Alliance has 86 participants who are being encouraged to get actively involved in the Week.

The Action Pack and Worship Pack are available in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and German. They can be ordered or downloaded free from
